Hello

I’m Laura Companys, the founder of Good Companys Yoga. I’m bilingual (French) and currently training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents at Birkbeck University, which has deepened my understanding of how children experience their feelings and the world around them. I’m DBS certified, teach in both French and English, and am a Yoga Alliance certified teacher with over 600 hours of yoga teacher training. I’ve spent years working with children in schools and youth settings, and I’m passionate about bringing playful movement, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing into their day. Through yoga, stories, games, and breathwork, I love helping children build confidence, manage big feelings, and thrive both in and out of the classroom. We’re also a social enterprise, so part of what we do goes toward delivering sessions in schools that might not otherwise have access.

My Story

My journey has taken me from working as a youth programme manager locally and abroad to founding my own social enterprise. I’ve run a variety of interventions and seen first-hand how much money is often spent on programmes that don’t offer sustainable support for young people. I’ve worked for grassroots charities, the United States Peace Corps and even as an education consultant for a Magic Circle law firm (to name a few), but I ultimately realised I wanted to do things my own way.

So, I left London with my fiancé and spent two years travelling the world, learning from different philosophies, healing practices, and therapeutic approaches. Drawing on these experiences, I’ve developed my own method for working with children—one that combines playful movement, mindfulness, and emotional wellbeing with a deep understanding of their inner worlds. My goal is to create meaningful, sustainable interventions that help children thrive, both in and out of the classroom.
